Elim Baptist Church of Anoka, Minnesota, began on July 7, 1883, as the Swedish Elim Baptist Church, with eight charter members, and celebrated 125 years in 2008. The current building was dedicated in May,1954, replacing the original building, which was lost to a fire.
Throughout its history Elim has reached out to people locally and worldwide with the message of Christ, offering Christian education and programming for all ages, Christian daycare, supporting missionaries at home and abroad, sending short-term mission teams within Minnesota and to the Ukraine where a daughter church was started, and in other ways too numerous to list. Through the years, Elim has maintained a spirit of family and unity in Christ Jesus.
